These solid oak boards will be the treads for the stairs. Thanks to a generous gift from a friend, I was able to afford premium materials. The landings will be tongue-and-groove oak flooring. The trim, posts and banisters will be made from a very old, dark wormy chestnut salvaged from an ancient house in the area. |
