In the years before I started doing Renaissance Festivals (would that be my Medieval period?), I was in several bands with a great guitar player / songwriter / family man named Terry Hubbard. His smooth leads and great sense of harmonic structure was inspirational to play with, and we tarveled the American west in his incredibly old school bus (remember vacuum-operated windshield wipers?) with his wonderful wife Lynn and their four, then five (now seven!) intelligent and energetic children. Whew.

I had a phenomenal time. I learned a lot, and Terry and I had the privilege to quit the same Reggae Band together for the same reason, mostly due to the lead singer's singing about Love and Respect, and expecting us to run interference for his string of young conquests.

He still practices what he preaches, and you can learn more about his many new projects at the website for his new band:

Generation

which is made up entirely by members of his family. I have downloaded some of his clips from an artist site I found, and they rock with the same psychedelic groove that I remember from our days together on the rock and roll trail. There is even a clip on his downloads page that has me playing bass back in the mid-eighties! Look for the Seven Thunders clip called Walkin' on the Earth.
